for violin, cello, and 4 channel live electronics was commissioned by Access Contemporary Music for their first ever Buildings and Moods concert that took place on September 18, 2010 in the Chicago Loop.
The concept of the concert was to have five contemporary composers write pieces inspired by five landmark Chicago buildings/ places of architectural significance and to perform them on site. I was paired with the Harry Bertoia sounding sculpture that is located just outside the Aon Center in downtown Chicago.
The electronic portion of the piece consists of 4 channel fixed audio playback, and live processing of two contact microphones attached to the sculpture while the piece is being performed.
